Director

 

Norman holds a wealth of experience in the game, boasting the coveted USSF National 'A' Licence, in addition to the National Youth Diploma. He was previously assistant coach at NCAA Division 1 Charleston University as well as head coach at NCAA Division 3 Finlandia University for both men and women. Furthermore he was ODP coach and selector from 1997 - 2012. Norman founded Power Soccer School in 1997 and the Academy was formed in 2002. He is resonsible for coaches development in the UP and spent a month in Argentina with prestigious professional Club Estudiantes academy teams in March 2007. He played on a full D1 scholarship at Clemson & Charleston University.

Jack Curtin

 

Director of Coaching

 

Jack holds the unique BSc (HONS) Science and football degree from Liverpool John Moores University.  At the time of undertaking this, it was the only football (soccer) degree in the world. He currently holds several English F.A. coaching badges which include Level 1 & 2 coaching awards in addition to the F.A. Youth Module level 1. He also achieved the USSF National C Licence. Furthermore, he has obtained BTEC Sport national diploma, YMCA fitness instructor level 1 and the revolutionary Prozone video performance analysis levels 1 & 2. In addition to these qualifications, Jack has spent time with two of the most prestegious academies in the English Barclays premier league Everton F.C. & Liverpool F.C. as well as Everton's own American affiliate in Connecticut, giving him a rare insight into day to day running's at the highest level of youth development.

 

Brian McGowan

 

Assistant Director of Coaching

 

Brian has his MSc in Exercise science from NMU where he played club soccer and was the teams top scorer in his 1st season. Brian also holds a BSc (HONS) in sport and exercise science from the university of Limerick. Brian grew up playing club soccer for Bunratty United in Ireland. At U13 Brian was a representitive for his club in a regional select team who finished runners up in the Kennedy cup shield. Furthermore, Brian has attained his USSF National 'D' Licence and has spent five years with the Academy. Brian also has coaching certifications in track and field and olympic weightlifting. Brian is soon to do his NSCA strength and conditioning certification exam as well as his C National.

 

Mike Mullett

 

Assistant Coach

 

Mike is studying at NMU where he plays on the mens club team.  He grew up playing soccer with MSA and was one of the captains during his senior year at Marquette Senior High School.  Mike obtained his USSF E Licence during 2014 and is scheduled to pursue the National 'D' Licence in the near future.  Mike's soccer knowledge and personality are strong assets  as a coach and his relationship with players motivates them to enoy the game and work hard. 

Dani Anderson

 

Assistant Coach and Goalkeeper Coach

 

Dani recently began her journey up the coaching ladder completing the USSF 'E' licence. As a long time player for MSA, Dani's love for the game is contagious and she has a positive influence on our players, especially the goalkeepers.  Dani's many years of experience on the field and in the net make her a proud asset to the program and a role model for our young girls. We are excited to have her as an active member of the coaching staff.

Billy Mullett

 

Assistant Coach

 

Billy is attending Spring Arbor University where he plays on the University's varsity mens soccer team.  He developed his soccer skills with the Academy from U10 through U18 and captained the Marquette Senior High School team his senior year as well as being their primary PK taker. Billy has fantastic knowledge and technical ability which is a huge asset to him as a young coach.
